Hello my name is master Stephen Thomas. I started taichimartialarts.com because I believe that tai chi chuan does not get a fair image as a complete martial art. I learned tai chi chuan as a complete martial art.  I chose it over many other styles that I practiced because I saw that superior nature of tai chi chuan over other arts.  I also learned that the theories of tai chi chuan can be applied to all other martial arts. One does not have to lose any previous martial arts training experience to master tai chi chuan if taught correctly. One must be open minded, use common sense, be analytical, willing to test theories with reality, and be willing to work hard at stance training to master tai chi chuan.  I train with many instructors from many different styles to test my tai chi chuan theories, if they do not work then back to the drawing board. If they work with anyone or style then it is added to my training. 

This is my interpretation of what I believe tai chi chuan was in the old days and should still be today. Things have to change with time but things also need to stay the same. This sometimes is not a popular direction to go but I see with the newer generation their is a new surge of tai chi chuan martial arts and for a good reason. People are tired of the same old boring tai chi images for only elderly or rehab. I am not knocking this but there is a lot more to tai chi chuan.
